Acceptable Use
This statement sets out how schools, staff, and authorised users may use Invigila BETA. By accessing or using Invigila, you agree to follow these terms.
1. Scope
Invigila is provided to support the planning, administration, and delivery of school examinations and invigilation. These terms apply to everyone who uses Invigila, including administrators, invigilators, and any other person given access by a school or institution.
2. Permitted Use
You may use Invigila only for legitimate school examination purposes, including to:
- plan exam periods, sessions, and timetables;
- configure institution settings and examination rules;
- share session entry codes with authorised invigilators;
- display examination information in the examination room during a live session; and
- download and use Invigila user manuals and resources made available for that purpose.
You must use Invigila in a way that is consistent with your school’s policies, applicable examination board requirements, and any laws that apply to your institution.
3. Accounts and Access
- Each administrator account may be associated with and accessed on behalf of only one school or institution.
- An institution may request multiple linked administrator accounts under one licensing agreement. Additional accounts are subject to Invigila’s approval and the terms, user limits, and fees of that agreement.
- An account issued to one institution must not be shared with, transferred to, or used to provide the service for another school or institution.
- Administrator accounts must be used only by authorised staff for the licensed institution’s legitimate examination activities. They must not be used for an administrator’s personal purposes.
- Session entry codes must be shared only with invigilators who are permitted to run that session.
- You must keep login credentials and session codes confidential and must not share them publicly.
- You are responsible for activity carried out under credentials or codes issued to you or your role.
4. Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- use Invigila for any unlawful, misleading, or fraudulent purpose;
- attempt to access data, accounts, sessions, or systems you are not authorised to use;
- interfere with, disrupt, reverse engineer, or probe the security or operation of Invigila;
- upload, enter, or display content that is offensive, defamatory, or unrelated to examination administration;
- misuse student or staff information obtained through the service;
- use automated tools to scrape, overload, or abuse the service without our written permission; or
- misrepresent your affiliation with a school or examination body.
5. Examination Integrity and Student Information
Invigila may display session details, timings, notices, and other information required during an examination. You must ensure that information shown to students is accurate, appropriate, and authorised by your school.
Where Invigila processes personal information, you must handle that information responsibly and in line with your school’s privacy obligations. Do not enter more personal information than is necessary for examination administration.
6. Beta Service
Invigila is currently offered as a beta service. Features may change, be added, or be withdrawn. The service may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control. You should maintain appropriate backup procedures for critical examination information.
7. Intellectual Property
Invigila, including its software, branding, documentation, and design, is owned by us or our licensors. These terms do not grant you any ownership rights in Invigila. You must not copy, modify, or redistribute the service except as expressly permitted.
8. Enforcement
If we reasonably believe you have breached this acceptable use statement, we may suspend or restrict access, revoke an account, remove content, or take other reasonable action permitted by the applicable licensing agreement and law. Sharing an account between institutions, using an account for personal purposes, or otherwise breaching the account conditions above may result in temporary suspension or permanent loss of access. Where appropriate, we may contact the licensed institution before or after taking action.
9. Changes
We may update this statement from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of Invigila after an update means you accept the revised terms.
